California Turn-Key Machine Safety Provider

Pacific Blue Engineering (PBE) is a "Turn-Key" machine safety solution provider serving all of California and other surrounding states.  We are proficient in ANSI, ISO, OSHA machine safety standards, provide safety consulting services, training, design, electrical & mechanical installation, and validation services.

PBE provides the following safety services:


1. Safety Risk and Hazard Assessments: Identify the hazards associated with the equipment.  Estimate, evaluate, and mitigate risks.

2. Functional Requirement Specification: Specify safety input, logic, and output functionality to effectively mitigate risk through safety related parts of the control system.

3. Safety Design & Verification: Specify controls bill of material, develop electrical schematics, integrate new safety with existing controls, design OSHA compliant hard guards, and perform SISTEMA reports to verify safety circuit design.

4. Installation & Validation: Perform turn-key electrical and mechanical installation onsite. Commission the safety system.  Create detailed validation documentation and execute validation onsite.  Also, perform safety distance calculations.

The Risk Assessment Process

The Risk Assessment is the first phase of any safety upgrade.  The outcome of the assessment will determine how the safety system is designed, ensure proper compliance with relevant standards, and effectively documents the process.

This is a team-based approach that will include Customer Name’s core team members intimately involved with the machine.  These members are personnel such as maintenance, engineering, operators, etc.  The team-based assessment will ensure that a complete picture of the machine and how employees’ interact with it is taken into account.  This approach is crucial to effectively identifying hazards on the machine and assign an accurate risk rating.  A thorough assessment is necessary to make certain that the risk reduction techniques are effective and also functional from an operations perspective.


The risk assessment method evaluates risk based on hazards exposed to personnel while performing specific tasks.  We will address set-up, cleaning, operation, and maintenance tasks associated with the machine.  For each hazard identified, the risk assessment team will assign a risk rating and ultimately agree on mitigation techniques that are suggested.
